Hello everyone! Yes I know. I have been gone a long time. June was a hectic month for me, but alas no need to worry. I am back with my quippy blogs and reviews and what better way to come back than to introduce you to the July MEMBER OF THE MONTH, CHANTHONY!

This month's member of the month hails from Flushing, New York. So if you New Yorkers are searching hard for someone to hit around with Chanthony may be your man. Anthony (his real name) is a 4.0 and like to play at the baseline. I took a brief Q&A with our new friend to see where he got his tennis roots and how he evolved...
And here goes:
When did you start playing tennis? who got you started?
I started to play tennis when I was 10 years old. My parents and friends convinced me to try it out.
What's your favorite thing about tennis?
My favorite thing about tennis is because it's never the same and lets me relieve stress if necessary.
Inquiring minds want to know, what's your weapon of choice? I play with a Wilson k Factor k Six-One 90 Tour strung with Luxilon Big Banger ALU on the mains and KLIP synthetic gut on the crosses both at 55 pounds.
(RM - This commercial makes me cheer everytime, have you seen the K Factor commercial?)
Where do you have home court advantage?
My home court is Kissena Park and the USTA BJK National Tennis Center
Are you playing on a part of any teams or groups?
I will be attending Brooklyn College and be playing with the DIII men's team
What kind of tennis do you prefer? singles? doubles? mixed?
I prefer singles
Are you a competitive player or more recreational?
I am more of a competitive player
If you were going to create your own shot, what would it be called? and what would the actual shot be?
The Super Shank - intentionally shanking the ball at net to create a backspin instead of an overhead winner
(RM- wow, this was the most prepared answer I've ever gotten an answer too, I'm gonna try the Super Shank)
What introduced you to TennisMetro?
Facebook
How many people have you linked up and played with?
4 people
(RM- Hey, that's pretty good)
In case we couldn't catch you playing tennis, what else would you be doing?
Going to the beach or running
What are three tennis items you don't leave home without (other than your racket of course)?
My Wilson Super 6 Pack, 2 cans of balls, sun block
(RM- What's a super 6 pack?)
Have you been to any opens? are there any tournaments that you are planning or would love to go to?
I have been to the US Open and WWT tournaments (NY Sportimes)
(I live in envy of all of you that are attending big tourneys)
Who's your favorite tennis player?
Roger Federer
Well, I hope that's not just cuz he's stepping it up lately. There you have it folks our member of the month Anthony! Thanks Anthony for your participation on TennisMetro, we appreciate you.
